Healthy Churches Don't Happen By Accident

Independent assessment, practical insights, and a pathway for growth

How Pulse Works

Pulse is the foundation of the Healthy Church programme and forms Module 1 of a two-part process. It can also be completed as a standalone assessment for churches that simply want to gain a clear picture of their current health and effectiveness.

Step 1 - The Pulse Survey

A Pulse questionnaire is distributed to church members and attendees via a simple digital link or QR code. All responses remain anonymous and confidential and are analysed collectively.

Step 2 – Analysis and Review

Once responses have been collected, the data is processed through software and a series of analytical tools and review processes. The findings are then independently reviewed by a Healthy Church Consultant to ensure they are clear, accurate, and actionable.

Step 3 – Reporting

The church receives a suite of reports designed to help leaders understand strengths, identify development opportunities, and plan for the future.

These include:

  • Executive Summary – A concise overview of key findings, priorities, and recommendations. (View example)
  • In-Depth Report – A detailed analysis of all key findings. (View example)

  • Full Data Report – Complete survey data and response breakdowns. (View example)

The more people who participate, the more representative and accurate the results will be.

Churches that complete the process may display a Healthy Church Review Badge as a visible commitment to reflection and continual development.
